Airbus Mobile Boarding Pass Concept
Designing a future-ready mobile flight experience that transforms complex travel data into a glanceable, brand-aligned, and stress-resilient passenger interface for paperless air travel.
Tenure: 2019
Domains: Aviation, Travel Experience, Digital Ticketing
Platforms: Mobile (iOS/Android)
Project details
The Airbus app concept shows how a digital boarding pass & flight information experience could be reimagined for mobile.
Project goal was to:
- present complex flight data in a clear, glanceable format
- create a premium, brand-aligned visual language
- demonstrate the future of paperless air travel and passenger self-service

My role
As part of the Milkinside UX team, I leaded UX design efforts and contributed to information architecture & layout design.
I helped define:
- What information matters most in an airport context
→ route, time, gate, boarding, seat, passenger - the hierarchy for “glance usability”
- Grouping of data into:
- flight overview
- passenger & seat
- scannable boarding code
The result is a layout where users can understand the state of their trip in seconds.
Strategic Impact & Leadership
- Glanceable Experience for Time-Critical Contexts: Structure the end-to-end information hierarchy for the mobile boarding pass so passengers can understand flight status, timing, gate, and seat in seconds while moving through high-stress airport environments.
- Transforming Dense Travel Data into Clear Visual Narratives: Convert multi-source flight information into a scannable, human-readable layout using strong typographic hierarchy, spatial grouping, and progressive disclosure to reduce cognitive load at moments of urgency.
- Mobile-First Interaction Model for Real-World Use: Designed for one-hand use, divided attention, and poor lighting conditions, ensuring fast access to the most critical actions and supporting rapid state checks during the passenger journey.
- Brand as Experience, Not Decoration: Translated Airbus visual language into a functional UI system where gradients, aircraft context, and motion reinforce orientation, flight awareness, and premium product perception.
- Concept Vision for Paperless Passenger Journey: Prototyped a future mobile flow where the digital boarding pass becomes the primary travel artifact, demonstrating how mobile can replace fragmented physical documents.
